Introducing Husband and Wife Chef Team Fernando and Kristy Stovell

Born in Mexico City, Fernando Stovell studied in a military school in Mexico and after three years gained the rank of officer at the tender age of 18. In 1997, after graduating with a degree in International Relations, he decided to move to England and pursue his passion for the culinary arts. After studying to gain a Professional Chef’s Diploma at Westminster College, Fernando worked in several different and prestigious restaurants, including The Wellington Club where he became joint head chef with his wife Kristy. Both Kristy and Fernando moved on to Piccadilly’s Cuckoo Club at the same time, which was then voted one of the Top 100 restaurants to dine at by Tatler within 6 months.

Kristy was born in New Zealand, with her first job being for a local up-market food business where she first found her love of food. Since moving to the UK in 1997 and gaining a Professional Chef’s diploma, Kristy has worked for several reputable restaurants including Monte’s Private Members Restaurant and Club on Sloane Street, Knightsbridge. Following on from this, Kristy went on to join Fernando at The Wellington Club. Both Kristy and her husband moved to Piccadilly’s Cuckoo Club at the same time, and there she took the position as a senior kitchen team member.
